Peter Rich lectured and conducted design workshops at the College of Design, Construction and Planning, and the Centre for African Studies at the University of Florida, USA. Peter also lectured at the Florida International University of Miami in the School of Architecture and the Centre for African Studies.

Peter was honoured to receive the South African ABSOLUT VISI Designer of the Year Award. It was the first year an Architect was awarded this prize. South Africa's designers across disciplines compete for this honour, i.e. Product, Fashion, Industrial Design, etc.

Award winners will announced at the WAF, held in Barcelona, Spain from the 4th to the 6th of November 2009.
